Latex paint was never intended to be applied by a sprayer. This has more to do with molecule size than thickness of the paint itself. The pigments that go into latex paint simply arent ground fine enough to achieve proper atomization. Sprayers you see advertised spraying latex paint are generally airless and usually do so with a shearing action which is literally chopping the pigment molecules up before spitting them out. The Apollo Latex Kit approaches spraying latex in the only way possible for an HVLP system, through a special needle/nozzle combination that handles the large, irregular sizes of the pigment. This requires less thinning of the material resulting in better coverage with less coats and minimal loss of sheen.
